Alma Mater...

VALDOSTA STATE UNIVERSITY

'Mong the stately pines of Georgia
Glorious to the view
Stands our noble Alma Mater
Basking 'neath the blue.

Alma Mater, thee we honor
Praises never fail,
For thy fame shall never perish,
Red and Black - all hail!

Alma Mater's sons and daughters
Ever will be true.
Always to thy heart returning
Dear old VSU.

Alma Mater, thee we honor
Praises never fail,
For thy fame shall never perish,
Red and Black - all hail!

Last week I went to South Georgia to visit friends and while there I spent some time walking around my college campus. When I received my Bachelors Degree in 1988 the name was Valdosta State College, since then VSC has become a University and is now known as Valdosta State University (VSU). The campus has grown in the years since I walked the lawns of VSC. I spent several hours walking around the main campus checking out the changes and taking pictures of both new and old sites on campus.

The Mall between Nevins and West Hall

One of the things I remember and love about
VSU is the natural beauty of the trees with
Spanish Moss

Front Lawn of the campus -
I spent lots of time practicing with the
Marching Band on the front lawn

West Hall

New section of the Library

Lowndes Hall was the first dorm I lived in
while a student at VSC

The Fine Arts Building - as a Music Major
I spent many hours in this building

Basketball Courts? -
Well at least this used to be Basketball
Courts. Today it's a parking lot.
