Comic Con - Stargate Buses
Advertisement on buses is a part of Comic Con every year and this year was no different. However I did not see as many different bus wraps this year at Comic Con. But MGM and Fox paid for a number of buses to be wrapped ads for the new MMO Stargate Worlds and the new Stargate SG1 movie Continuum due out on DVD Tues July 29th.

Comic Con Actors Hit the Exhibit Hall...
htSeeing actors on the exhibit hall floor at Comic Con is common. Many of the studio booths sponsor autograph signings to promote movies and tv shows either before or after the panels for the respective show/movie.
After the Stargate Continuum panel I was down at the SciFi booth registering for one of their give aways when Amanda Tapping, Martin Wood, and Ben Browder walked up next to me. They were checking out the promo buttons that SciFi was giving away at the booth. In the first picture below Amanda is taking a picture of the Sanctuary promo button one of the SciFi folks had on. A friend of mine had given me a custom made Martin Wood button that I was wearing and that allowed me to strike up a conversation with Martin when I said a lot of folks had Sanctuary button but only one person at Comic Con had a Martin Wood button. He said "Oh, how COOL!" and then wanted to take a picture. The director in him wanted to get the perfect picture and it took him several tries with Ben having to lend a hand. During this time we talked a bit about his involvement with DVD commentaries for Stargate and he said he really enjoys doing them and as long as he has the free time and is asked he will continue to take part in them.
Fox Home Entertainment sponsored a Continuum autograph signing at the Stargate booth and because I had asked a question during the panel earlier in the day I had a ticket so I was able to pick up an autographed Continuum poster. Because they were moving people through very quickly I was able to get a decent picture at the beginning of the auto line but not at the end.
John Barrowman and Gareth David-Lloyd from Torchwood spent Thursday and Friday at Holzheimer’s booth # 3845 signing autographs. Gareth was also there on Saturday and Sunday.

Comic Con 2008 - Stargate: Continuum
Well I have to say after having attended the last 4 years in a row of Stargate panels at Comic Con this was the best one yet. Not because Richard Dean Anderson attended for the first time, although that was a wonderful treat, but because it was the best set of questions asked at a Stargate panel in the last few years by fans.
I will do a more detailed report on the panel in a few days. But just a few of the highlights.
Brad Wright confirmed that they are currently planning on a third Stargate SG1 movie. He followed that up with saying that the t's are crossed but the i's are not dotted yet on Stargate: Universe but they hope to have those i's dotted soon.
Each cast member was asked what they are currently doing. RDA said that is building a house. Amanda Tapping and Martin Wood are currently working on "Sanctuary" which will premiere on SciFi October 3, 2008. Michael Shanks just finished with a guest spot on Burn Notice. Chris Judge said that he had landed a part on 24 but was fired because they said he was not black enough. Ben is doing some writing and coaching at the moment. Beau Bridges is on My Names earl as Earls father.
The most touching moment of the panel was when the tribute video was shown for Don S Davis.
I spent most of the panel in line waiting to ask a question so I did not take as many pictures this year as normal but I did snag a few.
